SFWA Presents Quasar Online Event
The Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association is excited to present the Quasar Online Event, a special continuation of the 2025 Nebula Awards Conference.
All current members of the 2025 Nebula Conference will have access to the Quasar Event for no additional fee. New participants can now obtain a virtual 2025 Nebula membership for a reduced fee of $75 USD, which will provide them with access to the Quasar, the online 2025 Nebula archives, and ongoing events like the writing dates and virtual committee meetups.
A note about programming--we heard you! Based on the generous feedback from members via the programming survey as well as feedback from past Nebula Awards Conferences, we have crafted a programming schedule that addresses members' requests.

First, we chose dates and times accessible to members across a multitude of timezones. In addition, we took into consideration holidays, other conferences, and religious constraints to help ensure we accommodate as large a segment of our membership as possible.

Second, the response to our seminars this past June was overwhelming--you want more! The schedule balances panels with seminars. We are also bringing back the perennial favorite office hours, allowing you to consult with folks who have all kinds of expertise.

Third, all programming will be categorized to identify what type of content to expect. This will help ensure we cater to as many of our members’ diverse backgrounds and experiences as possible when enabling you to select the programming that best fits your needs.
Panel participation forms and office hour surveys will be sent to all registrants no later than September 15th, so make sure to register early if you're interested in participating. Signups for office hours and the programming schedule will be posted to our events page by October 15.
The 2025 Nebula Conference
June 5th-8th in Kansas City, MO and Online
SFWA is excited to announce that the 60th Annual Nebula Awards Conference will be held at the Kansas City Marriott Country Club Plaza and online in the beautifully transformed downtown core of Kansas City, Missouri.
SFWA recognizes that the current political climate in the United States may leave some people uncertain whether they are willing to travel to the US in general, or Missouri, in particular. Kansas City has made explicit commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion. For example, the Kansas City Council approved a resolution designating Kansas City as a “sanctuary city” for LGBTQ+ people. In 2024, Kansas City received a perfect score on HRC's Municipality Equality Index for the fourth year running - an index which measures support for LGBTQ+ individuals throughout daily life. SFWA will also have both volunteer and professional security available to actively prevent and resolve harassment. We believe that Kansas City is a welcoming place for all writers, and we look forward to celebrating our diamond anniversary with all of you!
In-person registration includes all online access. With every conference ticket, you can watch and listen to all recorded panels and presentations that took place over the weekend.
In addition, you'll have access to ongoing events and panels throughout the year, including our Narrative Worlds series and our planned fall virtual conference!
Our focus this year is to provide high level professional development, foster community and networking opportunities throughout the day and evening receptions, and of course, to celebrate our Nebula Award finalists and honorees throughout the weekend, especially at the Nebula Award ceremony.
